MYRRHA PhD student wins award at leading conference on reactor safety

A PhD student at SCK CEN, Đorđe Petrović, received a prestigious award at the FISA and EURADWASTE conference. This conference brings together more than 500 scientists every three years on the topics of reactor safety and nuclear waste management.

Congratulations to Đorđe Petrović, one of MYRRHA’s young and ambitious PhD students. He received the ‘High Scientific Level and Originality of the Contribution’ award at the triennial FISA and EURADWASTE conference. His work is entitled ‘Investigation of a Hypothetical Core Disruptive Accident Scenario in Multi-purpose hYbrid Research Reactor for High-tech Applications (MYRRHA)’. "I am very honoured to receive this award," beams Đorđe Petrović.

Those wishing to consult the full paper will have to be patient for a while. His work  will be published in the scientific journal 'European Physics Journal – Nuclear Science and Technology' in the autumn.
